How to make your legs look longerPosted 20th March 2016

We all love a good pair of legs. Whether it’s a man or woman, the tone and definition sometimes leaves us feeling a little hot under the collar! And some very lucky people have the advantage of legs that just seem to go on forever.
We are all so different, so many body shapes, sizes and proportions; yet there is something that can be done. Yes, get very excited… I will go through all the clever little styling tricks to achieving the illusion of longer, thinner and more defined legs. Are you ready?
The power of the belt
Instead of wearing a belt around your jeans, trousers or skirt, try wearing a waist belt. Waist belts do exactly what they say… they give you a waist. By adding a waist belt to your outfits you give the illusion of much longer legs.
When wearing trousers…
Show off your asset by wearing a well fitted pair of trousers or jeans, that especially hugs the bottom. Anything on the tight side can dig into the waist causing the dreaded muffin top, even on the slender figure. When fashioning a pair of trousers or jeans, pay attention to the pockets at the back, the pockets should be small to create a smaller, lifted bottom, which ultimately makes the legs look longer.
Stay away from hipsters
Anything around the hips makes the legs look shorter. Try instead wearing high waisted jeans and trousers perhaps with a shorter top to show off those long limbs.
Trouser length is more important than you think
Anyone with short legs should stay away from three quarter length trousers or rolling up the bottoms as it cuts the line of the leg. Wear trousers that finish at the ankle bone and see the difference it makes.
When wearing a skirt…
Stick to the high waist – the same rules apply, by wearing a high waisted skirt you give the illusion of longer legs. Wear your top tucked into the skirt to further maximise length.
A-line equals A game – a-line skirts are definitely the way forward; the movement and length draws the attention to the bottom half of the body. A-line skirts make the legs look slimmer, especially if the skirt length is just below the knee.
Keeping it simple – when wearing a skirt, wear either one colour, soft vertical lines or patterns, or a soft pattern. Anything too full on will detract from the length you are trying to achieve.
Fishnets widen the legs and can make them appear more rounded, something that so many do not realise. Wear tights with a seam running down the back of the legs, the seam creates a slimmer and longer leg, and they look very very sexy!
Boots and Heels
Heels are magic! They do wonders to the entire body! Heels make you stand taller with more confidence, make you walk with elegance and you feel hot; better yet, they lift the bottom and back of the legs, make the legs look slimmer and as if they go on and on. Ta da!
